This course will look at current “best practices” regarding suicide assessment and prevention, while considering the impact on the person in the client seat, the therapist, and the community at large.  We will look beyond the current bio-medical model and examine power and knowledge as they relate to suicide.  Mainstream ideas and beliefs around suicide will be examined including intersections of race, gender identity, culture, age, sexuality, and economics.  Alternative modes of

Sign in begins at 8:15 and the workshop begins promptly at 8:45. There will be 15 minute breaks in Part 1 & Part 2. Lunch will be from noon to 1:15.
